About Us
The Department of Hadith within the Basic Islamic Sciences program focuses on issues such as how the hadiths, which can be defined as the words and actions of the last prophet Muhammad, presented as a role model in the Quran, have reached us today, their historical course, chain of transmission and text criticism, the determination of rules related to methodology, and knowledge of the literature. To this end, it aims to conduct academic and current studies related to the aforementioned topics.
Although education and training are primarily aimed at undergraduate students, activities are also carried out at the master's and doctoral levels. Within these programs, undergraduate courses include History of Hadith, Methodology of Hadith, Hadith I, Hadith II, and Hadith III. At the postgraduate level, courses such as Fabricated Hadiths, Hadith-Culture Relations I, Hadith-Culture Relations II, Understanding Hadith and Sunnah from History to the Present I, Understanding Hadith and Sunnah from History to the Present II, History and Literature of Classical Hadith Methodology, Classical Hadith Texts, The Religious and Social Position of Hadith/Sunnah, The science of Jarh wa Ta'deel, The Use of Hadith in Religious Services, Hadith Research Methods, and Basic Hadith Sources are taught.
Our faculty's Hadith Department has 1 professor, 1 associate professor, 2 assistant professors, and 1 research assistant.
