About Us
The Department of Islamic History and Arts examines the major political, social, cultural, literary, and artistic events that have occurred throughout the history of the Islamic religion. The Department of Islamic History and Arts consists of four branches: Islamic History, Turkish-Islamic Literature, History of Turkish-Islamic Arts, and Turkish Religious Music. Through these branches, after examining the fundamental topics of Islamic History, events and activities surrounding Turkish History and Civilization are addressed. Students thus gain a historical and chronological perspective, as well as the ability to read archival documents and recognize architectural works, and acquire a taste for poetry, music, and literature.
